2. Our Health & Safety Responsibilities

Eximex will:

  • Comply with all statutory health and safety requirements
  • Provide safe working conditions, safe systems of work, and suitable equipment
  • Assess and manage workplace risks
  • Offer appropriate information, instruction, supervision, and training
  • Consult with employees on safety matters
  • Ensure safe handling, storage, and transport of goods and materials
  • Maintain emergency procedures, including fire safety and first aid
  • Review this policy regularly to ensure effectiveness and compliance

Employees, contractors, and visitors must also take reasonable care for their own safety and that of others.

3. Employee Responsibilities

All employees are expected to:

  • Work safely and follow Eximex’s health and safety procedures
  • Report hazards, unsafe conditions, or concerns immediately
  • Use equipment, PPE, and materials correctly
  • Cooperate in accident investigations and safety initiatives
  • Not misuse anything provided for health and safety purposes

Failure to follow health and safety guidelines may result in disciplinary action.

4. Risk Assessment

Eximex conducts regular risk assessments to identify, evaluate, and minimise workplace hazards.

These assessments cover:

  • Manual handling
  • Office and warehouse safety
  • Display screen equipment (DSE)
  • Fire safety
  • Slips, trips, and falls
  • Transport, loading, and unloading
  • Use of machinery or equipment where applicable

Control measures are implemented and monitored to ensure ongoing effectiveness.

5. Training & Competency

We ensure all staff receive appropriate training, including:

  • Health and safety awareness
  • Fire safety procedures
  • Manual handling (where relevant)
  • Job-specific safety training
  • Induction training for all new employees

Additional training is provided as required by role or risk level.

6. Accidents, Incidents & Near Miss Reporting

Eximex encourages a proactive reporting culture.

All accidents, injuries, near misses, or unsafe conditions must be reported immediately so corrective action can be taken.

We will:

  • Record incidents accurately
  • Investigate causes
  • Take action to prevent recurrence
