This policy outlines Eximex UK’s commitment to preventing modern slavery and human trafficking in its business operations and supply chains. It demonstrates our commitment to complying with the Modern Slavery Act 2015 and our broader responsibility to act ethically and with integrity in all our business dealings.
2. Scope
This policy applies to all employees, officers, and directors of Eximex UK as well as contractors, suppliers, and any other parties with whom we do business. We expect the same high standards from all of our contractors, suppliers, and other business partners.
3. Definition
Modern slavery is a crime and a violation of fundamental human rights. It takes various forms, such as slavery, servitude, forced and compulsory labour, and human trafficking, all of which have in common the deprivation of a person’s liberty by another in order to exploit them for personal or commercial gain.
4. Our Commitment
Eximex UK Ltd is committed to acting ethically and with integrity in all our business relationships and to implementing and enforcing effective systems and controls to ensure modern slavery is not taking place anywhere in our own business or in any of our supply chains. We are also committed to ensuring transparency in our own business and in our approach to tackling modern slavery throughout our supply chains, consistent with our disclosure obligations under the Modern Slavery Act 2015.
5. Risk Assessment and Due Diligence
To mitigate the risk of modern slavery within our organization and supply chains, Eximex UK Ltd will: Conduct regular risk assessments to identify areas of the business and supply chain where there is a risk of modern slavery.
Carry out due diligence on suppliers and contractors, including requiring them to confirm that they comply with the Modern Slavery Act 2015.
Ensure that all contracts include specific clauses prohibiting the use of forced, compulsory, or trafficked labour, or anyone held in slavery or servitude, whether adults or children.
Engage with suppliers and contractors to improve transparency and encourage best practices in combating modern slavery.
6. Training and Awareness
Eximex UK Ltd will provide training to all employees on modern slavery, helping them to understand the risks, recognize the signs, and know how to report any concerns. This training will be part of our ongoing efforts to raise awareness and ensure that everyone in our organization understands their role in preventing modern slavery.
7. Reporting Concerns
Employees, suppliers, and other stakeholders are encouraged to report any concerns related to modern slavery or human trafficking. Reports can be made confidentially through our designated reporting channel/whistleblowing action line, with contact to any senior staff member. Eximex UK Ltd is committed to investigating all reports thoroughly and taking appropriate action.
8. Monitoring and Review
This policy will be reviewed annually and may be amended from time to time to ensure its continued effectiveness and relevance. Eximex UK Ltd will monitor its implementation and compliance regularly.
9. Responsibility for the Policy
Our compliancy team, who are a collection of our senior staff members, directors and stakeholders, have the overall responsibility for ensuring this policy complies with our legal and ethical obligations and that all those under our control comply with it. Managers at all levels are responsible for ensuring that those reporting to them understand and comply with this policy.
10. Board Approval
This policy has been approved by the Eximex UK Ltd Board of Directors, who will review it annually and endorse any necessary changes.
